Connecting the plant to the grid
Prosumer rules are set by ANRE and Law 10/2016 on renewable energy. Your grid operator connects a plant for own consumption: Premier Energy Distribution or RED Nord.
- Plant capacity no higher than the contracted capacity of the consumption point and no higher than 200 kW
- Up to 10 kW can be installed without a consumption calculation; above that it is sized on the maximum annual consumption of the last 3 years
- A company with several consumption points: up to 200 kW in total
- Surplus goes to the grid under net billing (facturare netă): it is credited on your bill below the retail price, so a plant sized for own consumption and with a battery pays off best
- Plants above 200 kW sell energy on the market or through auctions, which is a separate procedure
How to connect the plant.
- 1
Sizing
We size the plant and battery from 12 months of bills.
- 2
Application
We apply to the grid operator for the connection permit (aviz de racordare).
- 3
Permit
The operator issues it within 10–30 days; it is valid for 1 year.
- 4
Installation
We build the plant strictly to the design and with the equipment in the application.
- 5
Meter
The operator installs a bidirectional meter with hourly metering.
- 6
Contract
You sign a prosumer contract with the supplier: Premier Energy or FEE Nord.
Documents for the application: ID or company details, a cadastre extract, the latest bill with the consumption point number (NLC), a site layout. For leased land, a registered lease contract.
